So the MSI Wind has been slowly winning me over with its reasonably stylish looks and, more importantly, it’s large, usable looking keyboard. Even though I opted to go a different route and got an Acer Aspire One instead, I think the MSI Wind would still be a good choice (though I’m not a fan of hard drives or Windows where netbooks are concerned). So what has MSI brought to the table with the MSI Wind U90 netbook? (more…)
Sure, this was the big story that broke yesterday, the patent documents Apple submitted two years ago. I didn’t want to write anything at the time, but now that I’ve thought about it for a bit and looked at how they purport it to work, I think I’m ready to say that it’s a good idea and that I’ll be looking forward to using one in a few months. So if this is an MSI Wind base that’s been used to put this together, then allow me to stop and give LG a standing ovation for a spectacular looking keyboard. This may be the best keyboard yet that I’ve seen on a netbook. Seriously, look at that! They used every millimeter of space they could and put the largest, most thoughtfully designed keyboard they could. And that’s only where the good stuff starts. (more…)
Hello, Fujitsu, and welcome to the netbook game. It’s so nice of you to join, well, everyone else with this spectacular offering. With its two-tone exterior and hip interior, Fujitsu is ready to take bow over the market with this one-of-a-kind offering. Wait, what’s that? It’s just like everyone else’s, only worse? Are you sure? (more…)
So everyone makes a netbook these days and everywhere you look, another manufacturer is stepping into the game. Obviously, at such a low price, it’s hard not to want to make a netbook and see if you can’t get a part of the action of thousands and thousands of people who are willing to spend $400 for a netbook, but not $1000 for a notebook. So are netbooks the wave of the future? (more…)
I hope you said “at least ten inches” because there’s speculation that the industry is heading that way. If you recall, Asus shocked the world (well, the laptop manufacturer world, anyway) by introducing its Eee PC 701 netbook with a 7″ screen. They promptly sold them and started a frenzy and now everyone and their uncle makes a netbook, many with larger screens. That’s a good thing for us, the consumers, because it means we can buy one cheaper and with better options. This is all rudimentary. However, with changes in the industry and in costs, it might be uncommon to find the middle size, the 8.9″, in a netbook soon. Or subnotebook for that matter.
While doing the daily prowl, I came across a post suggesting that the MSI Wind netbook should be available soon with the 6 cell battery. The MSI Wind has been around for quite a while already, as many of you know, but the 6 cell battery is just now starting to trickle out. Having seen how much power the 6 cell packs, I have to wonder now if I was a little hasty to get an Acer Aspire One. (more…)
