Samsung N120 Netbook + Broadcom BCM4321 + OS X = :D

Just a quick site update more than anything, but I just popped said BCM4321 into my Samsung N120 netbook and wifi is working great (in the three minutes I’ve had to test it). For those who might be a little frightened by the somewhat in-depth breakdown required by the Asus Eee PC 1000HE netbook, the Samsung N120 netbook consists of thirteen screws and then just popping the case apart. Take old card out, put new one in, and you’re good.

So, how about some guide updates? It is my intention, some point this weekend, to revise the OS X install on Samsung N120 netbook guide to be something a little closer to what the install OS X on the Asus Eee PC 1000HE guide is, which in turn, I also want to clean up a little bit.

Also, I need to talk to a few people, but I may have something else to post here, though it’d entirely user contribution. Fingers crossed!

Excellent guides, thank you! I just got OS X running on my Samsung, exactly as per your directions – no problems whatsoever.

One question though… you refer to the Broadcom BCM4321, but I think that’s a chipset, not an actual product. Can you tell me the name of the product itself (or give me a few), that I can search for?

      Glad it worked!

Correct, the BCM4321 is a chipset, not an actual product. While there are a few products that do work out of the box (I believe one of the Dell adapters does), what I actually used was some generic card I purchased off of ebay. If you search for the BCM4321 there you’ll find quite a few. Expect to pay around $20, shipping included. Not bad, eh?
