It must be the middle of December because the Apple rumor mill is up and running. While there’s certainly no shortage of Apple rumors to be found, this one is a pretty well thought out one that I thought others might be interested in. Talk of an Apple netbook or an Apple tablet computer isn’t new, but Ezra Gottheil has put his brain to use and come up with a pretty compelling rumor. (more…)
So this is all the buzz today, and for good reason. It’s funny how Apple can do something as simple as update their product line — not a major overhaul, mind you — and generate so much buzz. Sure, Dell got a lot of buzz with the Dell Inspiron 910 netbook, but not the same kind of buzz. This is tangible and has bunches of sites and grown, adult people trying to figure out what in the world Steve Jobs could possibly have for them. Well, today was product refresh day, so what’s the big news? (more…)
Ok, I’m still trying to get back into a normal posting rhythm here following being on my deathbed, and even though I’ve already posted something today, I thought I’d make a couple of comments about recent speculation of an Apple netbook (ironically, not an Apple tablet computer). It’s widely suspected that Apple will be announcing product refreshes on the 14th, and possibly, some new products. (more…)
Ok, this isn’t netbook or tablet computer or anything like that related, so sue me. A theoretical situation: you buy an Apple Aluminum Keyboard (because they’re cool) and aren’t using an Apple computer. How do you get it to actually work in Windows? You poked around on google which turned up some good ideas, but either the files were old or the method didn’t work, so here’s how make your shiny (well, it’s really sort-of matte) new Apple Aluminum Keyboard work in Windows: (more…)
Word on the street is that Apple is getting ready to send out new MacBooks, or rather, they’re already on the way. Does this mean that another Apple event is going to happen soon, or are they just going to spring these fancy new machines on the (not) unsuspecting public? And what’s different about them? (more…)
I first saw the announcement on MacRumors, but by now it’s hit just about every other site that covers any sort of tech news. Normally I wouldn’t bother mentioning this (even though I am something of an Apple fanboy), but I figured this would be a good chance to go out on a limb and make me look like I have my finger on Apple’s pulse by making a few predictions. Or one, at least. (more…)
Sure, this was the big story that broke yesterday, the patent documents Apple submitted two years ago. I didn’t want to write anything at the time, but now that I’ve thought about it for a bit and looked at how they purport it to work, I think I’m ready to say that it’s a good idea and that I’ll be looking forward to using one in a few months.
