Kohjinsha SX3 Netbook Tablet Reviewed

I hope your French is better than mine, because all I can say is “I don’t speak French.” Anyhow, a review of the Kohjinsha SX3 netbook tablet that left me scratching my head has surfaced. Again, because my French is rather woeful, it’s hard to say for certain, but it’d appear that the initial response (it’s apparently not an exhaustive review) is positive. (more…)

Apple announcement next week: no Apple tablet computer

I first saw the announcement on MacRumors, but by now it’s hit just about every other site that covers any sort of tech news. Normally I wouldn’t bother mentioning this (even though I am something of an Apple fanboy), but I figured this would be a good chance to go out on a limb and make me look like I have my finger on Apple’s pulse by making a few predictions. Or one, at least. (more…)

Fujitsu LifeBook P1630: not a netbook tablet

Catching up on news from the weekend, news of Fujitsu’s update to their LifeBook P1630 has hit the web thanks to the FCC. I love when news breaks, or products are announced, via some sort of government agency. There’s something particularly satisfying about products being outed in this fashion. Anyhow, what can you expect from the update to this tablet computer (it’s not really a netbook tablet because it predates them)? (more…)

Apple tablet computer?

Sure, this was the big story that broke yesterday, the patent documents Apple submitted two years ago. I didn’t want to write anything at the time, but now that I’ve thought about it for a bit and looked at how they purport it to work, I think I’m ready to say that it’s a good idea and that I’ll be looking forward to using one in a few months. (more…)

Albatron mini tablet Tee PC

Albatron, who you might know from the video card market, has announced they’re releasing a mini tablet computer, dubbed the Tee PC that sports a rather large screen for the hardware it has crammed inside. While not exactly a netbook or a true tablet computer, Albatron has targeted an audience that I think evaporated when HP stopped producing the iPAQ. Still, that said, I have a fondness for these things that makes it hard to hate on it too much. (more…)

Intel UrbanMax Tablet Computer: More Details and Video

Hot on the heels of the pictures and initial light information and speculation, there’s more information out regarding the slick Intel UrbanMax. Is it a tablet? A netbook? Netbook tablet computer? Tablet netbook? A netlet? (Please, don’t let that term catch on.) Well, according to Intel, it’s primarily designed as a touch device, but that still doesn’t answer the question. (more…)

Intel’s UrbanMax, a tablet computer I think I actually like

So I know it probably looks like I’m a little wishy washy when it comes to tablet computers, but Intel’s UrbanMax looks like one I can get excited about. It’s hard to pin down to a few words why I like this tablet computer and dislike others, but there’s something promising about this concept tablet. (more…)
